Inspect all the main assemblies and mechanisms carefully: the engine, the transmission, the augers and the discharge system. Keep in mind that the first start after a long idle period can be harder than usual, because fuel can evaporate from the carburetor and the oil can thicken. Before the first start, always check the oil and fuel levels and let the engine warm up for a few minutes. Preparing the snow thrower properly for long storage matters just as much. Before putting it away for a long period, drain the remaining petrol from the fuel tank and the carburetor to prevent deposits and a clogged fuel system. Check the engine oil level regularly and change it on time, strictly following the manufacturer recommendations in the operating manual. The oil must be changed according to engine hours or elapsed time, whichever comes first. Following these simple recommendations will extend the service life of your snow thrower and keep it working reliably for many years.
